Vallas, marchas y playas desiertas
Mientras la Cumbre se desarrollaba en el Hotel Hermitage y donde los jefes de Estado deliberaban la confección del texto final del encuentro; su contra cara, la anticumbre, llenaba el Estadio Mundialista de Mar del Plata. Con la presencia de Hugo Chávez, Silvio Rodríguez y Maradona como figuras principales, cerca de 40.000 manifestantes exteriorizaban su rechazo a Bush, al ALCA, el hambre y la miseria. Alejados de ambas cumbres, un grupo de violentos rompía y quemaba algunos negocios de comerciantes marplatenses.
